Pediatric Nurse Practitioners
Sara Lam, ARNP
Sara Lam is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who joined Upper Valley Pediatrics in 2016. Prior to this, Sara worked as a PICU RN for 5 years at academic hospitals in Maryland and North Carolina. Sara received her BSN at University of Maryland and her MSN at Duke University.
Nancy Foote, ARNP, MSN
Nancy Foote is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who has worked at Upper Valley Pediatrics since 1992. She has enjoyed seeing the children in our practice grow up from infancy through early adulthood and is always happy to see them return again as new parents! Nancy has national certification as a nurse practitioner in both Pediatric/Adolescent Primary Care and in Pediatric/Adolescent Primary Mental Health Care. She received a BS in Nursing at Fairfield University in Connecticut and a Masters in Nursing at Russell Sage College in New York. She and her husband have three adult daughters and one adorable new grandson.
Susan Farrell, ARNP, MSN
Susan Farrell received her nursing degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1979 and her Master's /Nurse Practitioner degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1986. She moved from her home state of Pennsylvania to the Upper Valley in 1986. She taught in the RN program at NH Technical College in Claremont, NH and worked at DHMC in pediatrics and on the birthing pavilion. She joined Upper Valley Pediatrics in 1993. In addition to working part time in the E.Thetford office, she has been the school nurse at Thetford Academy since 2007.

Sarah Stender, MA
Sarah received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of New Hampshire and her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Antioch University New England. Prior to accepting this position Sarah worked in several local school districts and comes highly recommended by her previous supervisors.
Douglas Speck, Ph.D.
Doug received his doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Temple University in 1997. He is licensed in Vermont and New Hampshire as a Clinical Psychologist. Doug has years of experience in treating children, teenagers and adults. He believes that all patients have an innate drive toward health and wellness and his role is to simply provide the education and support necessary to obtain these goals.
Lucy Pilcher, MSW
Lucy is originally from England and received her bachelor’s degree in social work from The University of Bath. She has a master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver as well as a graduate certificate in interpersonal trauma studies. Lucy’s passion lies in working with children and young people of all ages with a focus on play therapy, family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma focused CBT. She believes in working from a strengths-based approach to support children and young people in achieving their goals of behavioral, emotional and social wellness.
